Understanding Machiavellianism

This topic is definitely unorthodox, and this article is diving in to the grey areas of dark personality traits, and how Machiavelli achieved political power. So let’s get started… Machiavellianism is often misunderstood when separated from its original political theory context, emphasizing the difference between Machiavelli’s political ideas and the psychological assessment of manipulative behaviors.

The Dangers of Masculine Power

Researchers noted that this dark personality trait can have significant negative effects on both individuals and organizations, leading to a toxic environment where trust and cooperation are undermined. Environmental factors such as childhood experiences and parenting styles contribute to the development of Machiavellian traits.

What is Machiavellianism?

Machiavellianism is a personality trait characterized by a manipulative and cunning approach to achieving one’s goals. Individuals with high levels of Machiavellianism may behave differently in relationships compared to those with lower levels, often engaging in emotional manipulation and controlling actions.

Those who exhibit Machiavellian traits often engage in manipulative behavior, using deceit and cunning to get what they want. They prioritize their own interests above all else, often at the expense of others’ well-being. This dark personality trait can have significant negative effects on both individuals and organizations, leading to a toxic environment where trust and cooperation are undermined.

The Dark Triad Traits

Machiavellianism is one of the three traits that make up the dark triad, alongside narcissism and psychopathy. These dark triad traits are characterized by a lack of empathy, impulsivity, and a tendency to engage in manipulative and exploitative behavior.

Researchers have noted that individuals high in Machiavellianism are more likely to pursue high-power careers such as politics or law, where their manipulative skills can be put to use.

Trait emotional intelligence is negatively correlated with Machiavellianism, highlighting its importance in fostering prosocial behavior and positive interpersonal interactions. The dark triad traits often lead to emotionally detached relationships and a general disregard for the well-being of others.

Machiavellianism as a Dark Personality Trait

Machiavellianism is a dark personality trait characterized by a manipulative and exploitative interpersonal style. Individuals with high levels of Machiavellianism tend to prioritize their own interests over the well-being of others, often using cunning and deceitful tactics to achieve their goals. This trait is often associated with a lack of empathy and a tendency to engage in emotionally detached relationships.

Research has shown that Machiavellianism is a stable trait that remains relatively consistent across adulthood, and is often linked to negative outcomes in romantic relationships and social interactions. Those with high Machiavellianism scores are more likely to view relationships as strategic games rather than genuine connections, leading to lower relationship satisfaction and trust.

Relations with Other Personality Traits

Machiavellianism is often studied in conjunction with other dark personality traits, such as narcissism and psychopathy. These traits share a common thread of manipulative and exploitative behavior, but differ in their underlying motivations and characteristics. For instance, while narcissists seek admiration and validation, and psychopaths are driven by impulsivity and a lack of remorse, Machiavellians are strategic and calculated in their actions.

Machiavellianism is also related to other personality traits, such as agreeableness and conscientiousness, which are negatively correlated with Machiavellianism. Research has shown that individuals with high levels of Machiavellianism tend to have lower levels of agreeableness and conscientiousness, and are more likely to engage in manipulative and exploitative behavior. This makes them less likely to form genuine, trusting relationships and more prone to using others as means to an end.

Dimensions of Machiavellianism

Research has identified two dimensions of Machiavellianism: views and tactics. The “views” dimension captures the neurotic, narcissistic, pessimistic, and distrustful aspects of Machiavellianism, reflecting a worldview that is cynical and self-serving. On the other hand, the “tactics” component captures the more unconscientious, self-serving, and deceitful behavioral aspects, focusing on the strategies used to manipulate and control others.

These dimensions are not mutually exclusive, and individuals with high levels of Machiavellianism tend to exhibit both views and tactics. Understanding these dimensions can provide insight into the underlying motivations and behaviors of individuals with high levels of Machiavellianism, helping to identify and address their manipulative tendencies in various contexts.

How I Studied Machiavellianism A Few Years Ago

In my research on Machiavellianism, I found that individuals with higher Machiavellianism scores tend to have a negative, cynical outlook that assumes everyone will lie, cheat, or steal to get ahead. These individuals often engage in relationships more for manipulation than satisfaction, leading to emotional detachment and lower relationship satisfaction.

They also tend to be more aggressive to short-term as opposed to long-term partners. Additionally, Machiavellianism is associated with a range of behaviors suggestive of a positive relationship with psychological abuse, including a game-playing style of love, violence, and aggression.

Machiavellianism in Different Contexts

Machiavellianism can be observed in various contexts, including romantic relationships, workplaces, and social environments. Individuals with higher Machiavellianism scores tend to have negative perceptions of others and often engage in relationships more for manipulation than satisfaction, leading to lower relationship satisfaction and emotional detachment.

In workplaces, Machiavellian leaders or coworkers can create a toxic work environment, leading to decreased employee morale, motivation, and job satisfaction. These individuals often manipulate others to achieve their goals, creating a culture of distrust and competition.

Aggression and Antisocial Behavior

Machiavellianism is often linked to aggression and antisocial behavior, particularly in the context of romantic relationships. Individuals with high levels of Machiavellianism tend to engage in controlling and emotionally abusive behavior, and are more likely to use manipulation and coercion to achieve their goals.

Research has shown that Machiavellianism is positively correlated with aggression and antisocial behavior. Understanding the relationship between Machiavellianism and aggression can provide insight into the underlying causes of antisocial behavior and inform strategies for prevention and intervention.

By recognizing these patterns, individuals and professionals can better address the harmful impacts of Machiavellianism on social relationships and work towards healthier, more respectful interactions.

How I Studied The Dark Triad A Few Years Ago

Brother’s, I do not suggest doing this to be clear. But here’s what happened… I wanted to know my Machiavelli habits. So I admit I used NLP to invite his energy. Stay with me, this might sound crazy.

I closed my eyes, did a guided visualization, put my intentions to the universe and said out loud…

“I ask to receive the powers of Machiavelli.”

Completely true story brothers. Then the next day a storm came in to Northeast, Ohio. It was a very intense storm. And it wasn’t even on the weather radar. I remember because I told Zack Zeller this story before I rolled on the episode, How to Enhance Masculinity Featuring Zack Zeller.

What proceeded in my own personal life? People accused me of looking out for my own self interest. They accused me of being selfish. And then they also accused me of not considering others feelings.

Researchers noted that the dark triad traits often lead to emotionally detached relationships and a general disregard for the well-being of others. Psychoticism, as a closely related trait, influences behaviors such as emotional abuse and relationship control.

Did I exhibit emotional abuse? No brother's. I didn't try and control anyone either, I was more or less very distant from everyone. I kept everyone at arms length. Keep others dependent on you. That is a preview to my hardcover book.

I was always out of everyone's grasp before they had any say to get to talk to me further. I would come across as a bit selfish and slightly narcissistic. However, I have a full article on narcissism. I did push people away. But I wasn't as loud as you hear me on my podcast sometimes, I want to make that EXTREMELY clear.

Researchers have noted that individuals high in Machiavellianism are more likely to pursue high-power careers such as politics or law, where their manipulative skills can be put to use. Machiavellianism and psychopathy share manipulative tendencies but differ in motivations and behavioral patterns, contributing to ongoing debates about whether they should be considered separate constructs or distinct manifestations of similar underlying traits.

With that said, I am going to give you all ways to develop masculine power. But you need to know the dangers of masculine power before I tell you how to get more power...

The Dangers of Masculine Power

If you want to have masculine power, you need to know the dangers of what comes with it. You are a powerful creator. Some of you may think that’s bullshit, but no really consider this thought my friends.

YOU ARE A POWERFUL CREATOR. Your words that you tell yourself dictates your reality. I asked to receive the energy of niccolò machiavelli, and I paid the price. Once you invite that in your life, you cannot undo it.

The point I am making is you can develop masculine power without inviting the energy of a ruler and a dictator who was a real person, and he did anything he could to achieve more POWER.

If you want masculine power, here are the dangers of learning this topic:

  • Emotional manipulation is a common tactic used by individuals with high Machiavellianism, negatively impacting relationship quality and satisfaction.
  • Romantic relationships last only a few nights.
  • Significant gender differences exist in Machiavellianism, with men consistently scoring higher than women across various cultures.

So here’s what I did after realizing the crazy energy I invited in my life. I had to remove the energy from my house. I knew I had to do it after seeing how it affected everyone in a way that I never intended to.

I went back and did a guided visualization to bring back my empathy. I was emotionally detached and unavailable for any girl that came in to my life. This might sound crazy to some of you, but this story is 110% true.

Can You Get Masculine Power without Emotional Manipulation?

The answer is yes and no. Power is obviously a sensitive topic to many people and from the story I covered, I understand how many of you may think power is wrong.

But honestly, it’s not wrong, that is if you have controlled power. You don’t use it for emotional manipulation. You use it for positive means and only positive means.

Individuals with high levels of Machiavellianism may behave differently in relationships compared to those with lower levels.

If you want healthy relationships, understand that having masculine power simply means you are the man in the relationship. You are the decider, you are decisive.

You know what you will and will not put up with. You are not to be messed with. But you don't use emotional manipulation to gain control. In fact, it's good to set healthy boundaries.

It's even better to recognize the signs of people with dark personality traits. Brother's, start scrolling through my podcast library now. You will hear my dark seductive voice.

However, I want to establish a huge boundary with all of my readers before proceeding...

Never Abuse Your Power Over Others

As you can see, I have told you some personal stories that quite frankly, I am taking couragous action because I didn't want to come out with the story of what happened after I did the guided visualization.

Understand that its best that you know about the subsequent research throughout this article. Machiavellianism has been featured in many other groupings of dark traits, such as the dark tetrad, which adds sadism to the dark triad traits.

This is where I will draw the line with exhibiting dark personality traits. It's one thing to embrace your killer instinct, like how I protect girl's from psychos.

It's another to abuse your fucking power. I do not condone that shit. Even when I chose to invite crazy powerful energy in my house and it potentially caused a storm.

I remember talking to a family member, very calmly and my body got the chills as I said a twisted comment to her... So I apologized. It shows character when you admit you fucked up.

Brother's, that is the story of how I felt energy come to the surface of what I believed is a powerful energy. As I said before, YOU ARE A POWERFUL CREATOR.

There is evidence to suggest that Machiavellianism is represented differently in both sexes, with men score higher in dark triad traits, but don't get it twisted, women have their moments.

The Correlation Between Dark Side and Masculine Purpose

So here's a topic I discussed on my podcast with Mike from The Courageous Man, and that is the correlation between dark side and masculine purpose.

We can break it down in to five steps and this does include machiavellianism and psychopathy, due to the purpose of embracing the shadow self:

1. Integration of Shadow for Growth

Carl Jung’s concept of the Shadow Self suggests that embracing our darker aspects—fears, insecurities, and suppressed desires—can lead to self-actualization. Those who suppress their dark side may struggle with authenticity, while those who integrate it can harness its power for a higher purpose.

2. Transformation Through Struggle

Many myths, religions, and personal development philosophies highlight that struggle with the dark side (temptation, suffering, ego, etc.) is necessary for achieving a higher purpose.

3. Destruction as a Path to Creation

The dark side can represent destruction, chaos, and rebellion, which sometimes clear the way for higher evolution. In Hinduism, Shiva represents destruction but also the possibility of rebirth. Similarly, facing inner demons can be a stepping stone toward wisdom.

4. Power and Responsibility

Some people who embrace their dark side (ambition, intensity, even aggression) can channel it into positive leadership or purpose. The key is using power wisely, not destructively.

5. Alchemy of the Soul

Esoteric traditions describe the "Great Work" as transforming base elements (our darkest tendencies) into gold (wisdom and enlightenment). This is symbolic of using the dark side to fuel personal evolution.

Machiavelli Equals Masculine Power

It's important to know your power. Without knowing your power, you can potentially never find out who you really are.

Most men nowadays live their lives in quiet desperation. Little do they know that when they get to know their machiavelli habits, then they can see who they really are.

This is how to amplify masculine energy. Self discovery is critical to becoming a better man. Sometimes you need to learn to overcome rejection like a man, and even learn from losses.

So many men get butthurt over losses. But reframe it as a learning lesson and you have power over it. In the dating game, you need to develop your power, that includes facing rejection. But here's how to get more power...

Power is about keeping people at arms length. Power is about keeping others dependent on you. Power is about saying less than neccessary and never fully committing. More importantly, you get people to come to you and never chase anyone. Niccolo Machiavelli new this and he used it.

Conclusion: Understanding Machiavellianism

By recognizing the signs of Machiavellianism and setting clear boundaries and expectations, individuals can protect themselves from manipulation and exploitation. Additionally, building a support network of trusted individuals and developing emotional intelligence and self-awareness can help individuals navigate Machiavellian interactions.

I've told some personal stories that I've neglected to share. But I know that this article may raise a few eyebrows due to the darker nature of it. You need to know the dangers of masculine power, and you need to know how to never abuse your power.

Lastly, understanding machiavellianism can and will improve personal development. I've learned that when I do daily meditation, I do get in touch with my dark side. And I end up recording some of my dirtiest podcasts.

In some twisted way, I've accepted that I have dark personality traits and now I've learned to navigate around it. Machiavellianism in my mind can only be positive if you have self control to pull away from a situation that you recognize someone is about to manipulate you.

Lastly, but most importantly, machiavelli is all a part of self actualization. You are realizing your potential, you realize you can influence others, you realize you can seduce and abandon 😉

Brother's listen closely, if you ever wondered about the dark side of pick-up, this is it right here. Machiavellianism in seduction is you have one-night stands but it must be consensual. Never put girl's in a bad situation, I do not agree with that. Meaning, you both agree to have some fun.

Feel comfortable to leave your comments below. Those of you women reading, don't get butthurt, you can use this article to protect yourself.
