Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass Review 

In this article, I am going to show you my results with taking Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass and I am going to start out this article with a story. 

First and foremost, I know I reviewed Gold Standard Gainer, which you can check out under reviews. However, there are differences which I'll get to later in this article. 

I know that this company is a big name in the fitness field. Some people love it. Some people don't due to the prices. I'll get to that later.

Why I Chose to Review Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass

In case you didn't know, the supplement industry is filled with horrible whey protein with very good marketing. When you actually read the ingredients, you realize that you are consuming milk with pea protein. 

I'm looking at you MRE. I hate to be harsh here but I had a very upset stomach after drinking that. Never again.

The whole purpose for this article is to tell you the reader...

I've been training for 7 years. The only protein I noticed that my body can handle the best is ON. 

That of course means Optimum Nutrition. A few days ago I heard this younger dude I was checking in for my second job as a night auditor, he told me...

"Bro your chest is SHREDDED. What do you do for physical activity?"

I said to him straight up... "Lifting weights brother. Push pull legs. I also take plenty of supplements."

And then I left my shift that day. Decided to weigh myself. Realized I lost more weight. Down to 6.4 % body fat. And I gained 2.5 full inches in my chest and back. This is why I chose to review this product.

As you can see, I have a lean physique. You might even think my biceps are bigger on the left. However, the muscles in my chest and back from when I had this picture taken from my Optimal Training article...

Full transparency, I neglected abdominal work. I started doing more abdominal work throughout with push pull legs. 

I always like to keep it real on my progress with fitness supplements I take. You can't deny these results. I worked really hard to bring my body fat down. 

Last but not least, understand that I'm not perfect in my nutrition. I'll admit to all my readers that I make Avocado Brownies.

And it's really fucking good. I don't eat it all the time. But when I do, I make sure to knock out 100 burpees after I eat that delicious dessert. 

Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass Nutrition Facts

This fills you up extremely FAST. Leads to my number one con with this product. 

I do not encourage two scoops for the average person taking this for the first time. I encourage one scoop. 

I learned this through just being a tad bloated. For that reason, this is rated a 9 out of 10. 

I gave GSG which is short for gold standard gainer a 9.5 out of 10. 

Meaning I do prefer gold standard gainer in terms of ZERO stomach problems. 

Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass is more for seasoned lifters as well. 

Meaning, I really only recommend this post workout to serious weight lifters.

Now, don't get me wrong, these nutrition facts shows that there is a good amount of carbohydrates and protein. 

Hence the reason you will be filled up very fast. But I really only encourage one scoop if you are trying this for the first time.

Pro's of Serious Mass 

You will get results taking Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass. There's no denying it. This is a trustworthy brand in the supplement industry. 

My results can attest to it. However, start out with one scoop as I said. Don't overdo it. Listen to your body. 

You are getting creatine monohydrate in this product. And it's going to accelerate your results. 

The key ingredients in the Protein Blend are Whey Protein Concentrate, Calcium Caseinate, Egg White, Sweet Whey. 

Egg white protein in my mind is always extremely beneficial. Those of you vegetarians reading, this is not for you. 

However, for the average guy looking to gain some serious muscle, I recommend you give this a shot. 

Con's of Serious Mass

This product is not at all for beginners just getting started in weight training. I encourage you to start taking this after you've built up a tolerance to whey protein. 

More importantly, you know your body better than anyone. A lot of people think Body Fortress is a good brand of whey protein. That's for them. Their body can tolerate it but cannot tolerate Serious Mass. 

However, I don't like Body Fortress for MANY reasons. I'll get to that on another article and/or podcast. 

The carbohydrates and protein being used in this product varies greatly from GSG (Gold Standard Gainer) meaning in this product, you are getting the carbohydrate Maltodextrin [R]

Meaning, this one is more sensitive to my stomach. But that doesn't mean I don't like it. In fact, I've taken this for three months and you can see the results.

However, I need to take ONE SCOOP. Your body can be entirely different and can probably handle the standard dosage.

How Does it Taste?

I honestly favor the taste of Gold Standard Gainer. 

It's definitely not a bad chocolate taste, however, for me personally, I just find that the GSG has a better taste. 

However, here's what you can do if you want to sweeten your protein drinks in a blender. 

Add Organic Pure Maple Syrup. Just one tablespoon. And just a pinch of sea salt.

Bring out the sweetness. Believe me, I have cooked homemade food for a long time. A tad bit of salt with sweetness goes a long way. 

JUST A LITTLE BIT. 

Do not overdo it on the salt. Get the pink himalayan salt. Not the shitty kind.

I have to remind you all that I am a tad biased towards the Gold Standard Gainer as you can probably tell. 

But I cannot ignore the results it's given me.

The Bottom Line

All in all, this is definitely a protein solution that can and will get you some serious gains. 

It's going to work for you. However, I personally find that the taste can be improved. And the maltodextrin gives it one point down. 

Lastly, you will need to buy a blender. You can't get away with not using one as it will taste thick as fuck and the consistency won't be as good without a blender. 

However it does have an impressive 1:5 protein to carbohydrate ratio. Hence the reason for the high rating. 

And lastly, the results it gave me and people noticing, it's definitely a great option for seasoned lifters. 

Don't expect fast results. You need a good workout plan on top of taking Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass.
