  • How to Overcome Rejection: Indifference, Sociopathy, and APATHY

Last updated on January 27, 2026

"The middle class thinker perceives rejection to mean pain and suffering; the world class perceives it as completely necessary to justify being paid a large salary when you are a salesman is being faced with rejection day in and day out. Rejection is necessary for having healthy commissions." -Steve Siebold

Let's start out this article with a quote from The Top 7 Books Every Man Must Read called 177 Mental Toughness Secrets of the World Class.

I'm really pushing the limits as far as possible in this article to show you all that you need to turn off your emotions when you are rejected, meaning this is an article on how to overcome rejection, but I'm warning you...

DO NOT TAKE THIS ADVICE TOO LITERAL.

This is only to understand how sociopaths control their emotions with rejection and how they get over it effortlessly.

Understanding Rejection

What is Rejection and Why Does it Hurt So Much?

Rejection is a universal human experience that can occur in various aspects of life, including personal relationships, professional endeavors, and social interactions.

It is a natural part of life, and everyone experiences it at some point. Rejection can be painful and challenging, but understanding how to handle it can transform it into an opportunity for growth and self-improvement.

Rejection hurts because it taps into our fundamental need for social connections and acceptance. When we are rejected, it can feel like a direct challenge to our self-worth and our place within a group or relationship.

This pain is a natural emotional response, signaling the importance we place on our social connections and aspirations. Understanding that the pain is a common human experience can help in processing these feelings and finding constructive ways to deal with them, even some unorthodox ways to get over it.

How to Overcome Rejection and Manage Your Emotional Reaction

Because what I’m suggesting today are some mindsets that may come across as unorthodox and over-the-top.

For EVERYONE’S sake that came across this article…

The only reason for suggesting the sociopathic method to overcome rejection is very simple…When you are rejected badly and embarrassed, part of you wants to show them what’s up don’t you?

In fact, I admit to you all, I’m calling myself out here, I have a tendency to call out my haters consistently. Meaning, I'm a bit of an asshole to my haters, but I love all of my readers & listeners 🙂

Understand that you don't want to be straight up cold-hearted person that has NO REMORSE.

This is a huge caveat to this article. Meaning, don't be an actual genuine asshole with a taker mentality. That isn't the answer my friends.

However, the attractive asshole in essence, very bold and has a powerful dark side, but doesn’t abuse it. That's the difference between unattractive jerk & the attractive asshole.

The Emotional Reaction to Rejection

Don't ever act like this when anyone rejects you

The 5 Stages of Rejection

The emotional reaction to rejection can be intense and overwhelming. It is essential to recognize that rejection is a process, and it can be helpful to understand the different stages involved. The 5 stages of rejection are similar to the 5 stages of grief, and they include:

  1. Denial: The initial stage of rejection, where individuals may refuse to accept the reality of the situation. Denial serves as a temporary defense mechanism, giving individuals time to adjust to the new reality.

  2. Anger: A natural response to rejection, often directed at oneself, the person who caused the feeling of rejection, or the situation at large. Anger can be a temporary stage, but it can also be a long-term response if not addressed.

  3. Bargaining: A stage where individuals may attempt to negotiate a way out of their hurt. This could involve mentally revisiting the rejection and imagining what could have been done differently to avoid the outcome.

  4. Depression: A stage where individuals may experience feelings of sadness or loss. This is a reflection of the disappointment or rejection experienced through rejection.

  5. Acceptance: The final stage of rejection, where individuals acknowledge the rejection and its effects. This stage is important for moving forward, as it involves coming to terms with the situation and finding ways to grow from the experience.

This is modeled from my article called, 5 Stages of the 'Red Pill'

How to Overcome Rejection with Alpha Indifference

Girls have a dark side, which means they will reject you

Have you ever been rejected? We all have, in fact, anyone who says, "No I haven't," is fucking lying to you.

In fact, I recently was at a park outside of my home state, and here's what happened...

This girl I started up a conversation with, she didn't accept my handshake, which in my mind, it's obviously her choice to accept it or not.

But here's what I did brother's...

Smiling, I told her, "I hope your day gets better." Then walked away.

Which in my mind, is a win. Remember brother's, a healthy ego looks at rejection as a win. An unhealthy ego is you let it BRUISE your ego.

The point on how this ties to the story? That's right, after the incident, I realized how far I've came.

My younger self would have acted weird about it and I would've asked her, "Why aren't you shaking my hand?"

So here's what I remembered after I left the interaction brothers...

Girls don't trust that EASILY. Girls don't need to accept a handshake from any random stranger. So here's the point behind this story...

You need to have ice cold emotions. That means develop alpha indifference.

Let Go Of Everyone's Opinion's of You

Think about how each rejection happens. Think about how you interpret rejection. Think about how you can stop relying on ANYONE'S  opinion's of you to feel full.

This ties in to one of the references of my book Become The Alpha Women Want, and that is the Tao Te Ching.

That book has a more spiritual approach, so I want to warm you all up to the darker topics I'm going to cover later in this article.

The biggest point I want you to understand is there is a paradox in seduction I've never touched upon on my blog yet.

The desire to avoid rejection is common and understandable, but it can lead to missing out on meaningful connections and experiences.

The paradox in getting good with girls is you need to be as indifferent as possible towards rejection. Ask yourself these hard questions...

  • Why do I fear rejection so much?
  • Why do I get butt hurt when people don't accept me?
  • Why do I need anyone to like me at all?
  • Why do I seek approval?
  • Why am I following anyone's lead, why can't I follow my own lead?

That will be the first step to overcoming rejection effortlessly. And believe me, I know getting rejected sucks.

Now, it's time that I give you a darker perspective on how to overcome rejection.

Overcoming Rejection in Different Contexts

Rejection in personal relationships can be particularly challenging, as it often involves a deep emotional investment. Romantic rejection, for example, can affect the way you see yourself and pursue relationships in the future. It is essential to allow yourself to feel and express your emotions in a healthy way to process them.

Practicing self-care by engaging in activities that promote wellbeing and self-compassion can help. Reframing the rejection by challenging negative thoughts and focusing on positive aspects of yourself and your life can also be helpful. Remember that rejection is not a reflection of your worth, and remind yourself to stay open to future possibilities.

Reflecting on what you can learn from the experience can aid in personal growth. Seeking support from friends, family, or professionals can provide relief and valuable perspectives. Focusing on personal growth and surrounding yourself with supportive people can help you move forward and heal from the rejection.

In the context of romantic relationships, it is essential to recognize that rejection is not a reflection of your worth or attractiveness. It is often a matter of compatibility or circumstance. Avoid taking rejection personally and focus on building your self-esteem and confidence.

In friendships, rejection can be just as painful. It is essential to acknowledge and accept your emotions without judgment. Seeking support from other friends or family members can help you process your feelings.

Reflecting on the circumstances of the rejection can help you understand it better. Remind yourself of your value beyond this single relationship, and decide on your next steps, whether that’s addressing the issue with the friend or focusing on other relationships.

In all cases, rejection can be a learning opportunity for personal growth and development. By understanding the emotional reaction to rejection and the different stages involved, individuals can develop healthier coping mechanisms and move forward with greater resilience and confidence.

Now let's get to the unorthodox methods to get over rejection. Don't be stupid brothers and take this advice too far.

Sociopathy Vs Psychopathy

Here's what all sociopaths have in common, that is they have fully embraced their dark side.

They went TOO FAR in to their dark side. As I state consistently, your ego is your dark side. Now I want to tell you something very interesting about psychopaths...

According to Psychology Today, "About 1.2 of US adult men and 0.3% to 0.7% women are considered to have psychopathic traits." [R]

And here is something interesting in that article brothers, the disorder is not at all in the DSM-V. That stands for Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Key points of psychopathy is callous unemotional traits, and lack of empathy. That is what apathy is brothers, you have zero empathy for others.

Traits of a Sociopath (How They Get Over Rejection)

I really have to make one thing clear to all of you, even though I encourage psychotic certainty, stop misinterpreting me that I say become one. I only mean you express unfiltered polarizing confidence.

A sociopath on the other hand does have empathy. But it's very little.

They feel guilt after they harm anyone. They also behave impulsively. They are reckless. But they actually do feel remorse after they harm others. But it's very little remorse. They also break the rules and laws. [R]

One thing I've noticed about sociopathic character's on TV Show's that girls watch, Damon Salvatore for example, is they are highly indifferent to everyone's opinions of them.

This is a common theme in this article, you need to overcome rejection with Alpha Indifference.

You need to understand the sociopathic mindset on rejection.

They get over it very fast. And they often show little to no emotions about it.

Always Laugh at Rejection to Overcome Negative Emotions

Now my over-the-top advice returns. You gotta demonstrate non-reactivity.

Have any of you heard some of my podcast episodes? I consistently say, "Be narcissistically unaffected by rejection."

Meaning, start smirking when you get rejected. Let's say some random girl says to you, "I wouldn't date you in a million years."

Look at her like she just complimented you. What are narcissists good at? CONFIDENCE!!!

Related Article: How Can Narcissism Be A GOOD THING?

"I understand you might have an opinion of me, but I'm honestly indifferent of what you think." Then smirk at her.

Have you ever had a girl pause and stare at you? If you have been through my pick-up article, you know I've encountered this before.

Here is how to be narcissistically unaffected by this common test from girls.

"You're probably just speechless because I'm so handsome."

Boom. Do you see how this is better than losing your composure and getting mad at her for testing your balls?

Rejection can cause psychological pain, which overlaps with physical pain in the brain. It's important to develop healthy coping strategies to manage this psychological pain.

Dominate Your Emotions Like a Sociopath

In this podcast, Mike and I both covered how testing and rejection are kinda similar to each other.

However, I know that half of my readers do not have a black belt in BJJ, so this is how I want to present the idea of dominating emotions.

That is you TURN OFF YOUR FEMININE SIDE when they reject you.

I know that this may sound weird to some of you, so stay with me.

Emotions are temporary. They come and they go.

Here's what I'm suggesting, you need to become emotionally not invested in the interaction when they reject you.

And let's be honest, most human beings have emotions. That's the problem with half of you men out there that came across this blog...

You do get emotional when girls find kinks in your armor.

Instead, here's what I'm suggesting... know when to 'feel' those emotions surface up but you control them like a fucking man.

Dominate them like a sociopath when you are getting tested and/or rejected.

I'll say this one more time, don't be STUPID and act out like an idiot.

Rejection can trigger strong emotional responses, especially for individuals with conditions like ADHD or autism.

So watch yourself carefully. Dominate your emotions.

Managing these reactions is crucial for maintaining composure and confidence.

The Less Fucks You Give, The Better

Remember brothers that this blog was created for you to amplify masculinity.

And one of those ways to increase that masculine identity is to stop giving a single fuck about what people think of you.

This right here is apathy. When you don't give a shit about other's, thats pretty fucking apathetic if you think about it.

But remember to not take any of this too far and lose all care for other's that are close to you.

For example, I am close with my sister Ashley. I recently noticed how much she gives little fucks. That's probably why we get along.

Here's a reminder to all my listener's of my podcast on becoming delusional in your own world...

  • List five to ten great things about you
  • Write down ten of your most important inner values

Then you realize that when anyone rejects you (not just women) you remember your fucking worth and your value.

Read that list over and over when they reject you. This will give you self-love.

And the less fucks you give, the better.

The Takeaway: Rejection Shouldn't Cause Psychological Pain

Here's what we can conclude, you all need to get used to rejection. Whether you like it or not, it's bound to happen.

There are logistics that you cannot control, for example, if the girl you chatted up came to a night club with her friends, unlikely you will pull her back to your place.

Not to mention, if you choose a high-end venue to practice social skills, it's not at all a good place to try and game girls.

There's the right type of venue's and the wrong type of venues.

Be smart brother's and start looking at bars with emotional stimulus in the air and that's the vibe of the environment.

Lastly, You should not allow this to cause you psychological pain. It only causes you pain if you allow it.

Any girl who rejects you, however she rejects you, whenever she rejects you, I want you to remember this has nothing to do with you. It shouldn't mean shit to you.

Let me say that one more time, it has 'NOTHING' to do with you. She could be in a bad mood. Consider her mental state.

Maybe she lost her job, and she's drinking her sorrows. Or she lost a boyfriend. I don't encourage rebounding. Speaking from experience, it's not worth it.

I'll save that story for a different time. Feel comfortable to leave your comments below and share this with a friend if it's helped you overcome rejection.
